Our Focus
Intentional Living by FSP is the new-home brand of Fresh Start Projects, a Calgary renovation and addition builder. Same team, same trades, same standards, focused on a small number of high-performance new builds each year.

We build to a standard higher than code, focused on comfort, energy performance, and long-term durability. From early design through final inspection, our process is built to remove guesswork and protect the quality of your finished home. Most of our clients start with a house they already own. Sometimes the right answer is to renovate it, and we’ll tell you so. When it isn’t, we build new on your lot.
Our Expertise
Our carpenters understand the building envelope and the role each layer plays in keeping a home comfortable, dry, and efficient. Performance critical decisions are guided by Jordan Dunning, our in house Certified Passive House Designer, so every home meets the standards we set for airtightness, comfort, and durability.
New Builds
Custom Homes from concept to completion. Planned in detail and built to perform.
Project Management
We oversee every phase of construction, ensuring meticulous care and transparent communication throughout the process.
High Performance
From envelope to finishes, every material and assembly is held to a defined standard and verified along the way.

Testimonials

"If you want a contractor with integrity and experience who delivers quality workmanship and cares about getting the job done right - and who gives you value for your dollars spent - Ernest and the Fresh Start Projects team are a perfect choice. I would honestly never consider hiring anyone else"

I have had the pleasure of working with Ernest for many years now. I have witnessed his dedication to his clients and their projects, and would highly recommend him for any renovation or new home. He has great on-site experience that many builders lack. He is honest and as a result provides great direction, whether it contributes to his bottom line or not.

I cannot say enough good things about Ernest and frankly, neither can our neighbours. They commented how Ernest was always working at the house and not just supervising, which is something we witnessed as well. He communicated extremely well; he didn’t overlook anything and took the time to tell and show us what was going on in the bones of the house, so we knew where lots of the value lay.
